Overview

When most people think about adventure in Nepal their thoughts turn straight to the mountains, the biggest in the world, clad with ice, snow and rock. Cold, desolate, inhospitable.

Inbetween these mountains though, run rivers wild. Much lower in the valleys warm, inviting sandy riverbanks call. This is our destination on this adventure!

To offer you these kayaking expeditions we have teamed up with both Australian and Nepalese experts and assisted in building a program that can take you from a beginner kayaker on Lake Pokhara, down 4 progressive rivers to be confidently descending through class III rapids!

Great food, great service and impecable safety. We provide the highest guide/instructor to client ratios, all your equipment, and gear portage by raft to keep your kayaks nice and light.

Do I need kayaking experience?

If you have Kayak experience on moving water, great! If not, dont worry. We'll start on the flat, still water of Lake Pokhara to teach you basic skills like paddle strokes and capsize drills before getting into moving water. The rivers are planned to be progressive, teaching and testing your skills along the way. There is plenty of opportunity to learn from a number of instructors, and if you're not feeling it, there are always options to walk around particular rapids, or catch a ride in one of the support rafts. You will however need a strong sense of adventure and solid swimming ability.

Grade II/III-
This rarely travelled river drains the slops of Manaslu and Ganesh Himal in a spectacular valley. This section of the Buri Gandaki runs with quiet charm through local villages, traditionally farmed land and natural forest sections and will be our introduction to expedition. With plenty of time to practice our skills and develop our confidence, our team will also introduce you to our gear boat and camp set up. All our equipment will be taken on the gear boat and picnic lunch's on white sandy beaches are all part of this river. All meals are included. Tent accommodation is supplied on the river and night 6 we will spend in a guest house of the beautiful village of Bandipur.

DAY 7 to 9 Lower Seti River

Grade II/III
This unique river passes through two beautiful and contrasting scenic areas offering a good variety of Nepali landscapes with local villages, terraced rice fields, waterfalls, jungle corridor and a beautiful white sandy beach for camping under the stars. The Lower Seti is a wonderful river to gain confidence in our new skills, get to know our crew, with relatively small water volume (compared to other Nepali Rivers) and a very pleasant warm water temperature it is also perfect for practicing our rolls and rescues.  We finish the Lower Seti with a local lunch and a short drive to our beautiful accommodation close to the National park of Chitwan. All Meals are included.

DAY 12 to 19 - Seti Karnali & International River Rescue Course

Grade II/III
After our big travel day yesterday we start today more leisurely, waking up to the beautiful gorges of Seti Karnali we will begin our trips major expedition.  With blue water and stunning gorges, one could not ask for a better place to develop their kayaking skills. Our team finds the balance between learning, training, river running, and quiet moments of inspiring views. We will practice you skills along the way, your rolls at secluded beaches, and share a place the few people visit. All Meals provided.

River Rescue Course
By now your new and improved kayaking skills will have you moving about the river with confidence. The Seti Karnali offers no end in beautiful beaches to run theory classes and perfect rapids to practice rescue skills. River level dependent we love to spend a couple of nights at the Budhi Ganga confluence, a narrow and beautiful river with boulder garden rapids and clear water that allow us to learn even more rescue skills in one of the expeditions most stunning camps. This is a fully accreditation and internationally recognised course, successful completion of the course requires successful completion of assessments. Not all of our guests wish to complete the rescue course and that's totally ok. Our instructors can help you work on your kayaking skills or you can relax in the beauty and remoteness of the river.

On our last day on the Seti Karnali we arrive at our accommodation in Chissopani, it's a short walk from our take out and enjoy the afternoon to relax, recharge, find a hot shower. This will be our teams last night with the crew before returning to Kathmandu, we celebrate the epic adventures, new friendships and the good times over dinner in a little local restaurant.
